Mourinho Confidence Of His Team Despite Draw With Stoke City

Manchester United manager,Jose Mourinho has claimed his confidence in his  side remains intact despite seeing Stoke City end their perfect Premier League start with a 2-2 draw at the britanny stadium.
Eric Choupo-Moting scored twice for the Potters, becoming the first player to score against United in four games this season and making Stoke the first side to deny them maximum points.
Mourinho saw poor defending for both of the Cameroon international’s goals cost his side a fourth successive victory at the start of the season, but he declared himself pleased with United’s position on top of the table, ahead of Manchester City on goal difference.
“It’s easy to feel it that some of the players were not with the sharpness and intensity and with the decision-making,” he said.

“I know after national teams there are no miracles or injuries or fatigue or lack of concentration and we had a little bit of everything.
“So I’m not disappointed with the players, I’m not critical with it, it’s just a natural consequence.
“Four matches, 10 points, top of the league, we are okay. We know that with the teams in the league is a difficult match and every point is a point you have to fight hard for so I’m exactly the same mentality and mood that I had after three matches and nine points, 10-0 in goals.
“A draw was a fair result. One team wanted to win, another team wanted to draw, but the team that wanted to draw fought hard for that.
“They defended a lot and it’s becoming quite trendy in the Premier League, this way of defending.
“But they did well and the team were physically very strong and they probably deserved the point.
“We tried to win in the last 20 minutes, that was clear, but we couldn’t and we can say we could score more goals and win, yes, but we could also not concede that second goal, which was really a bad goal to concede.
“But it’s a point and probably Stoke City deserved the point.”
Mourinho refused to criticise Phil Jones for giving Choupo-Moting a free header for Stoke’s equaliser, and played down a spat with opposite number Mark Hughes.
Former United striker Hughes pushed Mourinho during the game when he entered the Stoke technical area and Mourinho refused to shake his opposite number’s hand at the final whistle.
“I prefer not to answer question about handshakes,” Mourinho told the BBC. “It’s a bad question. It makes it look like it’s my fault but that’s not right.”
“I pushed him because he was in my technical area,” Hughes admitted. “Maybe that’s why he didn’t want to shake my hand.
“Maybe it’s because it could be viewed as a negative result for him.
“Coming to Stoke City when everybody expected them to beat us is a negative.
“Sometimes managers of the top-six clubs don’t take negative results too kindly and maybe he reacted the wrong way.
“The performance today was better than the performance against Arsenal when we won and I think that tells you how well we played and how Manchester United will test teams.
“I think they were excellent and we needed to step up to the challenge.”

Ronaldo React To Appeal Rejection

Portugal and Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has described the decision to uphold his five-match ban for pushing a referee in their Supercopa de Espana win against Barcelona as “incomprehensible”.
After being booked for removing his shirt in celebration after scoring, the Portugal captain was shown a second yellow after he nudged referee Ricardo de Burgos, who adjudged him to have dived in the penalty area.
Ronaldo was handed a five-match ban as a result, a decision that was upheld by Spain’s Administrative Court of Sport on Tuesday.
But Ronaldo, who is already reportedly upset about an ongoing tax evastion case regarding his image rights, hit out at the news via social media.
“One more incomprehensible decision. From injustice to injustice, they will never overthrow me,” Ronaldo wrote in Portuguese on Instagram.
“And as always I will come back stronger. Thank you to all who have supported me.”
Ronaldo missed the second leg against Barca at the Bernabeu and their 3-0 win at Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday. He will be also unavailable for Madrid’s upcoming LaLiga matches against Valencia, Levante and Real Sociedad as their title defence continues.

Musa Ends Liecester City Goal Drought

Nigerian forward, Ahmed Musa has finally ended his Leicester City goal drought that lasted almost eight months after scoring against Sheffield United in their Football League Cup clash.
The Super Eagles forward had not found the back of the net for the Foxes since January 7 when he struck twice in an FA Cup win over Everton.
Musa went a total of 22 games without getting his name on the scoresheet. But on Tuesday, he ended the drought with a goal in their 4-1 win over Sheffield United, in the second round of the Football League Cup at Bramall Lane.
The 24-year-old struggled throughout the 2016/2017 season and was frequently linked with an exit from the King Power Stadium, with reports suggesting he could reunite with former boss, Leonid Slutsky, at Hull City.
Algeria international Islam Slimani was on target twice as the Foxes cruised to the next stage of the championship after Demarai Gray had opened scoring for Craig Shakespeare’s side.

Arsenal Won't Make Anymore Signing This Summer - Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has hinted that their business in the transfer window is now complete, after saying he is “very pleased” with the purchases made.
Wenger broke the club’s record transfer fee by landing £52million forward Alexandre Lacazette from Ligue 1 giants, Lyon this summer.
The Gunners also brought in Bosnian left-back Sead Kolasinac on a free tag, in a transfer window in which Premier League clubs parted with more than £1billion.
Speaking about the incredibly inflated market, Wenger claimed signing players has become “very difficult” for clubs in the top flight.
“I am very pleased with our market because we bought good players who can integrate with our style of play,” Wenger told Swedish broadcaster, Viasat.
“That’s what we want. On the other hand, it is very difficult. Today, the prices are out of proportion. The transfer market has become very demanding today.
“There is no transfer market anymore because the price depends only on the identity of the buyer and when you are English, you have straight away 50 per cent [extra] on the price of a player and that makes it difficult to act,”‎ he added.
